Our yearly Christmas party, and every year it is a surprise. No details, no hints, just the whole team handed the day off to rest, get glammed up and wait for one text with a time and a location. That is the entire brief, and honestly, that is the fun of it. This year the casual crew came along for it too, because at Decor It Studio the casuals are not an add on, they are part of the heart of this business, and they get treated like it.

The text landed. Location: Rain Room, St Kilda. Picture a room of falling rain that tracks your every move and stops right above your head, unless you dare it to catch you, which, obviously, we did. Blazing hot day, team soaked head to toe, laughing the whole way through, an entrance only this crew could pull off.

Then it was down the road to the Prince Private Function Space for a relaxed evening of quality time together. Kris Kringle presents, beautiful food, good music and easy conversation among the people who make this business what it is. And just when you thought the night could not surprise us any further, an illusionist casually pulled up a seat at the table mid conversation and started pulling off jaw dropping tricks and disappearing acts right in front of us. No stage. No warning. Just pure, unfiltered showstopper energy.
