Naomi and Liam brought their wedding to the Hawthorn Arts Centre, and the venue’s period grandeur met its perfect match. The inspiration was romance at its richest: deep, elegant tones of red and burgundy paired with luxurious metal finishes and the building’s own architectural drama. Old world romance, styled for two people very much in the now.

The ceremony set the tone. Two urns on gilded pedestals stood either side of the altar, overflowing with deep red and burgundy blooms, framing the vows in colour that meant something. Red has always been the colour of deep love and luck, and in that heritage hall, against warm timber and ornate detail, it burned like a declaration. There was not a dry eye, and the florals did not help matters.

The head table was the theatre piece. A 4.8 metre bridal table dressed beneath a sweeping beige drape, topped with a feature artistic floral installation, brushed gold candle holders with glass sleeves, gold Louis chairs and Soleil feature glassware catching every flicker of candlelight. Regal is the only word. The couple sat in the middle of it like the portrait the room had been waiting for.

And the guest tables? Each one crowned with a five arm Regency candelabra, LED dinner candles glowing down the room, with fresh fruits and dark red and burgundy stems pooled at the base like a renaissance still life. Bentwood chairs, crystal glassware and warm light finished the picture. Every table a small masterpiece, every guest seated inside one.

Because that’s what a wedding deserves: styling with the weight of a love story and the nerve to go deep, dark and dramatic. Naomi and Liam brought the romance, the Hawthorn Arts Centre brought the period bones, and we brought the burgundy, the gold and the glow. Congratulations, you two gorgeous things. The room will never forget you.

“I have loved you in infinite forms, infinite times, in life after life, in age after age forever.”
