On Wednesday 28th May 2025, the MCG, one of Australia’s most iconic venues, got a full-blown glow-up, and we were right there leading the charge. Created for the brilliant team at AB Event Concepts, this Priceline celebration was a cocktail party with an absolute point of view. Guests were invited to dress as their favourite sporting icons, and let us tell you, the room was alive before we even switched the lights on.

But it was our floral installations that truly stole the show. Towering over each food station like magnificent, blooming trophies, these statement pieces weren’t just decoration, they were destinations. Each installation was colour-coordinated to its sport: the bold oranges and reds of basketball, the crisp whites and greens of cricket, the soft pastels of tennis, the rich greens of golf, the vibrant pops of badminton, and the electric energy of football. Walk from one station to the next and you walked through an entirely different world, that’s the power of intentional design.

The graphic language throughout the room leaned hard into vintage sports culture, think retro typography, nostalgic palettes, and that unmistakable feeling of flicking through an old sports almanac. Every printed detail, every styled surface carried the same visual story. Cohesion is everything, darling. When a room speaks one language, guests feel it in their bones, and they absolutely did.

And then there were the centrepieces. Oh, the centrepieces. Each one crowned with its own sporting ball, gold and glittered, stacked with cricket ball elegance, fun, bold, and completely unforgettable. They were conversation starters. They were photo moments. They were pure joy sitting right there in the middle of the table, daring guests to look away. Spoiler: they couldn’t.

What we created at the MCG that night was more than décor, it was a full sensory celebration of sport, community, and the thrill of coming together. From the moment guests walked in, dressed as their heroes, to the moment they left grinning, this event proved exactly what we always knew: great design doesn’t just dress a space, it transforms it into a feeling. And that feeling? Absolutely championship-level.
