THE TEAM
When Face to Face brought Toyota’s National Skills Awards Gala to the Park Hyatt, the brief was honour with a capital H. A night celebrating the very best of the best across the country, and a room that needed to feel every bit as accomplished as the people being awarded in it. We went ceremonial, and we went all the way.
The palette was pure celebration. Deep crimson linens pooled across every round table, because in tradition red is the colour of luck, joy and prosperity, and on gala night there was plenty of all three to go around. Against it, crisp gold charger plates and gold-rimmed glassware caught the candlelight like tiny trophies of their own.
The centrepieces were where the drama lived. Gold textured vessels holding lush arrangements of red and cream blooms, with gorgeous accents threaded through, each one glowing like a lantern beside its pillar candles and tealights. Every table was a small ceremony: warm light, rich colour and florals with real presence, all mirrored beautifully against the Park Hyatt’s polished grandeur.
But the detail work is what made it sing. Folded napkins resting just so, votives scattered low across the linen, that repeating rhythm of red, gold and candle glow drawing the eye down the room. Under the warm red wash of the venue lighting, the whole ballroom felt less like a dinner and more like a celebration that had been practised for centuries and perfected for this one night.
Because that’s what an awards gala deserves: styling that treats the guests like the achievements they are. Face to Face produced a flawless night, Toyota brought the talent worth toasting, and the Park Hyatt gave us the stage. We brought the luck, the light and the red-hot drama. Congratulations to every winner in the room. You looked magnificent sitting in it.
