QEvents brought their Chinese and Indian cultural menus to Metropolis in 2024, and the venue’s skyline views and sleek interiors gave us the perfect modern stage to dress in centuries of tradition. Two cultures, two menus, one mission: tables so rich they rivalled the food.

Look one was pure Chinese celebration. Crimson linens flowing like silk, golden candelabra casting that lucky warm glow, clusters of deep red and blush blooms with scattered petals strewn across the cloth, prosperity, styled. Orange velvet napkins brought the heat, and gold accents echoed the Chinese tradition of gold as fortune, abundance, and everything your 2024 deserves to be.

Look two turned up the Indian grandeur. Marigold, saffron and sunset tones bloomed across ivory linens, with brass and bronze vessels, scattered rose petals and tiered candle arrangements that felt plucked from a palace courtyard in Jaipur. The warmth in that colour story is no accident, in Indian celebration, vibrant colour is a blessing, a welcome, an invitation to feast.

But here’s the real headline: the details did the heavy lifting. Hand-folded napkins in burnt orange and chocolate, glassware that catches the candlelight, florals that spilled rather than sat, every element chosen to honour the menus it framed. Because when the food carries cultural soul, the styling shouldn’t compete. It should crown it.
